“Everything we do begins with our fans,” said Hornets Sports & Entertainment President of Business Operations Shelly Cayette-Weston. “Our fans are the most passionate and loyal in the NBA, and they deserve every opportunity to watch and connect with Hornets basketball. We’re very excited to be on WSOC Channel 9 and TV64 this upcoming season, building on the tremendous success of last season’s simulcasts, which expanded our reach, increased viewership and made it easier for more fans to watch. This partnership with Cox Media Group is about serving our life-long Hornets fans, the many new fans that are moving to our market every day as well as developing the next generation of future Hornets fans. We’re proud to partner with WSOC Channel 9 and TV64, stations that share our deep-rooted commitment to serving the Charlotte community and look forward to working with additional stations to bring our games to Hornets fans across the Carolinas.
“We’re thrilled about the opportunity to re-engage with our fans as we head into a new season with a team on the rise built around an exciting young core of players. Last year, the Hornets ranked No. 1 in the NBA in year-over-year attendance growth, demonstrating the incredible energy and enthusiasm this community has for the team. This expanded broadcast partnership gives us the opportunity to build on that momentum by reaching even more fans, in more communities, than ever before. We can’t wait to bring Hornets basketball into more homes across the Carolinas and give our fans even more ways to be part of the excitement this season.”
