Grand Theft Auto 6 GTA 6 Leak Rockstar Games
Earlier this week, new gameplay footage of Grand Theft Auto 6 leaked onto the web , reportedly because a hacker really hates the shift from physical to digital happening in the game industry . While Rockstar hasn't yet confirmed the validity of the leak, reuploads of the gameplay footage have continued to be removed due to copyright holder requests, according to sites like Twitter. And the footage that leaked looks very authentic.
Update: This article was originally posted on August 18. We've since updated it multiple times to add more details found in more of the GTA 6 leaks.
So yeah, it seems like multiple minutes of GTA 6 gameplay have leaked online . While Rockstar and Take-Two ( and Netflix! ) are likely frustrated about this news, we can dig through the footage and pull out new details about the upcoming open-world game launching in November on PS5 and Xbox.
Before we hop into the leaked details, I just want to make it clear that we have no way of knowing how old this build is and which parts of it will still be present in the game when it launches later this year. Some or all of the below details might change or be removed entirely between now and GTA 6 's highly anticipated launch. So just keep that in mind while scrolling. Oh, and if any story spoilers leak, we won't include them below.
There have been some past leaks and hints that fishing might be featured in GTA 6 . But these new gameplay leaks from Cyberleek provide definitive proof that fishing is a thing in the game. At one point, we see a fishing rod in Jason's inventory. And in another clip, while flying a plane over water, a pop-up can be spotted that mentions a nearby fishing spot where players can catch "Common Snook."
In a gameplay clip showing Jason exploring a seedy strip club, you can spot a few TVs showing what appears to be a basketball game. In the past, GTA games have featured television programs that players can watch on in-game TVs. We've also seen characters wearing shirts and other clothing referencing local sports teams.
Will players be able to actually watch basketball games? Will the outcomes change, and if so, can we perhaps bet on the winner? I'm not sure, but it does seem like sports will be a thing on GTA 6 's TVs.
A small detail, but an interesting one, is that players can now seemingly loot bodies in GTA 6 . In past GTA games, people you killed would just drop their money and guns upon death. However, this time around it seems like Rockstar is taking another page from Red Dead Redemption and forcing players to loot corpses to get ammo, money, and other valuables. The animation seen in the leaked gameplay is much faster than the looting seen in RDR2 , so for those worried about how this might be tedious, it shouldn't slow down the game too much.
Between the strip club leak and a new leak showing a nudist colony or group , it is clear that Grand Theft Auto 6 will include a lot of nudity. In the leaked gameplay clips, we've seen plenty of exposed female breasts, penises, butts, and vulvas. And a lot of these nude characters are shaped differently, with some very skinny, some much larger, and others landing somewhere in between.
Oh, and here's a song that was spotted in GTA 6 via a recent leak.
At one point during a violent hit-and-run, we see an NPC lose a limb. This seems to be our first indication that GTA 6 will feature some form of dismemberment. We can't tell yet how graphic or frequent dismemberment will be in GTA 6 , but considering how detailed everything else is in these leaks, I imagine you'll be able to blast and chop people up in ways we haven't really seen in a modern GTA game.
In one leaked bit of gameplay, we see Jason approach a car, and an on-screen pop-up prompt appears that mentions "Clone Key." This seems to indicate that you'll be able to use a device to clone a car's FOB and then unlock it easily without having to smash the window or break in. There's also a prompt that appears that mentions breaking the window, though, so it seems you'll have a few options for stealing cars.
Not surprising, but the most recent leaks indicate that the weapon wheel, seen in past Rockstar Games like GTA V and Red Dead Redemption II, is back in GTA 6. However, this weapon wheel seems a bit smaller and more like RDR2 's than GTA V's, possibly indicating that you won't be able to carry 12 guns and an RPG with you at all times as in past GTA entries.
Another interesting detail spotted in the weapon wheel is healing items that Jason seems to carry around with him and which can be used during fights to quickly regain some health. Again, this feels very similar to RDR2's inventory and healing system. In the leaked footage, the healing item appears to be named "Zombix."
During a tussle with some security guards, Jason knocks off one of the enemy's hats. He then picks it up off the ground and puts it on his head which, I know I sound like a broken record, but it seems a lot like a detail in RDR2 . In that game, you could pick up hats off the ground and put them on dynamically while playing.
The song heard in one of the most recent GTA 6 leaks is "Sports Car" by Tate McRae. This song was released in January 2025, which seems to indicate that the build seen in this leak is from around that time or later. This seems to contradict past rumors and reports that the leaks are from 2024 or even 2023.
However, it's possible Rockstar Games was provided an early version of this song a few weeks or months before it was available to the public. For now, though, this song seems to be the best evidence that the footage from Cyberleek is from a build of GTA 6 from 2025 or later.
In one of the leaked GTA 6 gameplay videos, we see Jason playing basketball. We haven't been able to play basketball in a GTA game since San Andreas . And this mini-game might be more important than expected.
