Even if things improve again later, the lull messes with the overall experience. Take The Walking Dead (currently available on Netflix). There are plenty of lulls you have to work through to get back to the good stuff and the show is downright unwatchable after Andrew Lincoln leaves. Or Lost , once that show started doing flash-forwards, it lost its edge. And Stranger Things , of course, suffered a massive decline after season 3.
