Vincent Kompany was encouraged by Bayern Munich's performance following their emphatic 15-0 pre-season victory over Rottach-Egern, insisting there were valuable lessons to take despite the one-sided nature of the contest:
"You can always recognise new things in games like these, even if it was only a friendly. Of course, the level will increase, but you can already see the first signs." The Bayern coach also praised the club's annual training camp at Tegernsee, which concluded with the traditional friendly.
"You can always take a lot of positives from the training camp here at Tegernsee. The traditional match is enjoyable and makes you look forward to the season. You really get a feeling for the Bavarian culture here." Kompany emphasized that Bayern's focus remains on improving step by step ahead of the competitive campaign.
"We're focusing on football and on continuously raising our level during pre-season. We still don't have all the players back with us, and we're looking forward to having everyone here again soon." The Belgian also offered a brief update on Vincent Manuba, who appeared to struggle physically during the match.
"I think everything is okay. It's very hot, and he was probably just dealing with some cramps." Bayern will now continue their preparations as more first-team players return from their summer break ahead of the start of the 2026/27 season.
