LeBron James left the Los Angeles Lakers to compete for another championship with another team. He loved playing for the Purple and Gold, but he joined the Philadelphia 76ers to form one of the NBA's scariest starting lineups.
Despite joining the 76ers , LeBron did consider multiple teams, including a third stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers . In fact, there was even a secret meeting with the Cavaliers ' front office that went unnoticed by most of the NBA world.
The Cavaliers and LeBron James had a secret meeting for another reunion
While it was not a secret that the Cavaliers were interested in bringing LeBron back to Cleveland for the third time, the standard procedure for most teams was sending pitches to him and Rich Paul.
During the offseason, LeBron clearly weighed plenty of options, but it came to a point when Philly became the easiest and most logical choice in the free agency market. Now, he will enjoy playing alongside stars like Jaylen Brown, Joel Embiid, and Tyrese Maxey.

Since LeBron grew up in Akron, Ohio, he often visits his hometown. During one visit in early July, it seems he had a secret meeting with the Cavaliers.
This was mostly unknown to most media members, but ESPN's Shams Charania found out about it. He refused to report on it because he learned about the meeting during an off-the-record conversation.
"He never said anything to me about that. Nobody knew about that; that did not get out nowhere," Paul said on his Game Over podcast when he had Charania as a guest .
Shams pointed out he refused to write up a news report about it because he wanted to uphold journalistic integrity. It is a fair reason to do so, but it is impressive that he heard about it even though LeBron tried to keep it under wraps.
