Bob Chesney says new linebacker Trent Hendrick will play Week 1

Why waste time? Just a day after committing to join the UCLA Bruins, linebacker Trent Hendrick was at practice for UCLA with head coach Bob Chesney confirming that Hendrick will be available for the season opener against Cal.

UCLA’s practice on Monday became a small piece of history as Hendrick became the first player to return from attending an NFL minicamp. Everybody has an opinion about the rookie camp participants returning to the NCAA but UCLA is a clear winner, adding an extremely established piece to their new-look defense.
