On Wednesday, the Los Angeles Clippers re-signed Bradley Beal to a two-year deal to return to the franchise. The three-time NBA All-Star played for the team last season but was limited to just six games due to a hip fracture.
Several team were linked to him but he ultimately decided to continue his playing career with Los Angeles. Beal’s $13.2 million deal gives more than the veteran’s minimum, showing the team’s belief in him.

Beal’s return also gives the Clippers more depth at their shooting guard rotation. While his natural position is at the two spot, he can also help with playmaking chores and brings a lot of experience to the table.
His career averages are 21.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 4.3 assists. Beal shoots 37.4% from beyond the arc but also attacks the basket and sets up teammates when needed.

He finished second in the scoring race and earned his third All-Star selection. The Florida Gators product also became one of the league’s most dangerous perimeter scorers and made the All-NBA third team.
Now, the Clippers must decide how they’ll use him. They have a clear argument for bringing him back. A healthy Beal could provide scoring, shooting, and another ball-handler. He has scored 50 or more points five times in his career, including a career-high 60 points.
It all depends on how his recovery went, but he has a chance to prove that he has a lot left in his tank. The team will likely ease Beal back in and won’t need him to produce a lot upon his return.
