The Baltimore Ravens signed Zay Flowers to a massive contract extension this offseason and locked him up for the next couple of seasons.
Behind him, there are some question marks about how good the WR room will be. But even though there might be questions about the WR room, one name has come up as a potential trade target.
According to Aaron Wilson for SportsTalk 790 , $36.75 million receiver Rashod Bateman has emerged as a trade target for the Houston Texans after they lost Jayden Higgins to a season-ending ACL tear. Bateman could be on the move this summer.
Ravens' Rashod Bateman linked to Texans for potential trade
"The Texans have made exploratory trade calls, per league sources," Wilson writes. "Among the potential targets: New England Patriots wide receiver Kayshon Boutte and Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Rashod Bateman."
There has been some buzz about a Bateman trade this offseason, especially after Baltimore took two wide receivers fairly early in the 2026 NFL Draft: Ja'Kobi Lane and Elijah Sarratt.
With Devontez Walker also in the WR room, the Ravens could justify trading Bateman and relying on Flowers, Lane, and Sarratt to lead the WR room.
The 27-year-old wide receiver, who signed a $36.75 million contract over three seasons through 2029, could be a trade candidate.

Baltimore would lose a bit of cap space this season, but they'd be freeing up close to $6 million in 2027, $8 million in 2028, and $10 million in 2029.
The theory of trading Bateman, getting out of his contract, and landing a quality draft pick would make a lot of sense. But that's just in theory. In practice, it probably wouldn't work so well.
If the Ravens had just one more good receiver, then a Bateman trade could be justified. But with how Baltimore doesn't have a clear-cut backup option or two, mainly just rookies or inexperienced players, keeping Bateman makes more sense.
So, while Wilson is reporting that Bateman has become a trade target of the Texans, a deal, barring Baltimore adding a WR this summer, might not make sense.
