A dedicated DoorDash deliveryman in sandals waded through flood waters Monday night just to deliver McDonald's.
Many cars stalled out in low-lying areas.
At least 5 had to be rescued in River Edge, New Jersey
"We had to walk through the floodwaters. We were able to extricate the people out of the cars over there," Chief Ben Silver said.
"It's just getting worse and worse every year. You know, it's just the weather is crazy," one resident said.
Over in Hawthorne, on Goffle Road, the Goffle Brook turn into rapids and raced around the neighborhood.
An ambulette got stranded under an overpass.
In Ridgewood, first responders said lightning struck a building, travelled all the way down to the basement and blew the electric meter, triggering a 2-alarm fire.
If flooding and flames weren't bad enough, there was hail lots of cold hard ice pellets hitting Franklin Lakes and Edison.
The storm also impacted New Jersey Transit on Monday night.
Pascack Valley Line rail service was suspended for a few hours in both directions due to a downed tree across the tracks near Westwood Station.As of 10 p.m. Monday night, service has resumed.
