Chelsea are reportedly keen on signing experienced striker Danny Welbeck from Brighton & Hove Albion.
New manager Xabi Alonso is said to be keen on bringing in the 35-year-old according to journalist David Ornstein of The Athletic .
Welbeck has plenty of experience he can offer the Blues and has just come off his best-ever goalscoring return in a season, netting 14 times for the Seagulls in 40 games as well as making two assists.
The Blues are already well stocked for forward options so should a deal be done to bring Welbeck in it will likely lead to departures with Nicolas Jackson one of those attacking players most likely to leave the club this summer.
Welbeck first joined Brighton & Hove Albion from Watford in 2020 and has since played 201 games for the club, scoring 51 goals in total.
