According to a recent report from The California Post's Edward Lewis , the new Timberwolves' star is allegedly being sued by a North Carolina landlord over $100,000 in missed rent checks.
The report from Lewis stated that court records showed Ball was sued Monday and that according to a copy of the lawsuit, Ball entered into an agreement with Agape Property Management Group in December 2020 for Ball to rent two units in a Charlotte condominium complex.

Agape Property Management group also alleged in the suit that Ball had subleased one of the two properties to his manager former NBA player Jermaine Jackson while Ball lived in the other unit.
The Root of the Issue
Ball eventually agreed to buy his unit in May 2024, but according to the lawsuit, continued to sublet the other unit to Jackson and in the process, both Ball and Jackson fell behind in rental payments, so now Agape Property Management Group is allegedly trying to collect.

“As of July 1, 2026,” Agape Property Management Group wrote in its lawsuit (via The California Post), “the Defendants owed the Plaintiff rent exceeding $181,500.00.”
On top of the missed rent, the lawsuit also alleges that Ball and Jackson also racked up "over $90,000 in unpaid HOA compliance fees."

Apparently Jackson had been sued in the past for a similar issue, according to a report from the Charlotte observer that The California Post cited, but Jackson claimed in a hearing statement that Jackson had fallen behind on rent payments because the apartment "needed repairs and mold treatment."
New Problems
Ball was not mentioned in that initial lawsuit and it was dismissed against Jackson on June 3. However, this new lawsuit that The California Post mentions both Ball and Jackson.

This is certainly an issue for Ball, but not one that should interfere in his transition to the Timberwolves. Rather, it's one lasting issue from his time in Charlotte.
The California Post could not reach representation for either parties for comment in the report, so for now it's up in the air what Ball's thoughts are about the issue or how he plans to handle the allegations against him.
