The Boston Red Sox traded for Curtis Mead for his bat.
Late Saturday night, news of the deal broke that brought Mead from the Washington Nationals in exchange for lefty pitcher Connelly Early.
Mead has an .852 OPS this season with 17 home runs, seemingly finally starting to live up to his prospect status from years ago.
Boston recently went on a 15-game winning streak to get back in the playoff picture, and Mead is the kind of upgrade they apparently decided that their lineup needed.
There's really just one problem: Mead doesn't like Sweet Caroline.
Yes, the Neil Diamond song that plays in the eighth inning every game at Fenway Park and is a bit of a Boston anthem.

Why doesn't Curtis Mead like Sweet Caroline?
Mead admitted in an interview that he knows it's a "fan favorite," but he simply stated that "it gets old."

If the Red Sox are playing well and Mead is playing well, the tune will definitely have a more positive ring to it for him.
