Missouri struck early, scoring twice in the opening 45 minutes to take a 2-1 lead into halftime. After struggling to generate consistent offense late last season, the Tigers showed encouraging signs in the attacking third during their first action of 2026.
Freshman Lana Adams scored in her debut for Missouri, capping the 3-1 victory with a second-half finish. The Perryville, Missouri, native was the Tigers’ lone in-state addition in this year’s recruiting class and made an immediate impact in black and gold.
Adams’ debut came against a Lindenwood team projected to finish atop the Ohio Valley Conference after placing third last season, giving Missouri a quality early test before the regular season begins. The Tigers will face another OVC opponent later this season when they take on Southeast Missouri.
With a nonconference schedule largely comprised of regional opponents, Missouri’s performance against Lindenwood provides an early benchmark heading into a stretch of games against similar competition.
The Tigers officially open the regular season on Aug. 13 with a two-match road swing through Kentucky, beginning at Western Kentucky before traveling to Murray State. While the result won’t count in the standings, Missouri heads into the season with encouraging signs in the attacking third and momentum from a strong preseason performance.
