While the Dallas Cowboys prepare to add Von Miller, their effort to strengthen the defense may extend to another player with NFC East experience.
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports that Dallas has explored the free-agent cornerback market, with former Philadelphia Eagles starter Adoree’ Jackson emerging as a name to watch. Jackson spent the 2025 season in Philadelphia, where new Cowboys defensive coordinator Christian Parker served as defensive backs coach. Jackson reportedly has interest from multiple teams, so a deal with Dallas is not considered inevitable.
Jackson appeared in 14 games and made 10 starts for the Eagles last season, finishing with 55 tackles, 11 passes defended and one interception. He provided outside coverage experience and demonstrated that he can still contribute when healthy.
His familiarity with Parker’s coverage system could reduce the adjustment period. Dallas already has DaRon Bland, Cobie Durant, Shavon Revel Jr. and Caelen Carson, but Jackson would bring veteran competition and insurance to a young group.

Jackson practiced against Jalen Hurts, DeVonta Smith and Dallas Goedert last season and understands their tendencies. The Eagles are also familiar with Jackson’s strengths and weaknesses, while Sean Mannion’s new offense should include concepts he did not regularly encounter last year.
Philadelphia faces Dallas in Weeks 7 and 12, with the second matchup scheduled for Thanksgiving. Jackson would not transform the Cowboys’ defense on his own, but adding him after Miller would give Parker another experienced player who understands his expectations.
