Brentford and West Ham close to reaching agreement on El Hadji Malick Diouf transfer
Brentford and West Ham United are reportedly close to reaching an agreement over the transfer of El Hadji Malick Diouf (21), according to reports from the French media outlet Foot Mercato . Whilst there are still a few details to be ironed out between the two clubs, the deal is expected to be finalised within the next few days.
The Hammers, who have been relegated to the Championship and are forced to sell during the summer, are expected to capitalise on the sale of the Ziguinchor-born player to boost their coffers; his market value is estimated at €28m by the specialist website Transfermarkt.
Having arrived in London a year ago from Slavia Prague in a €22m deal, Malick Diouf immediately established himself on West Ham’s left flank, starting 32 of the 34 matches he played across all competitions (providing five assists) last season.
A Senegal international, the 21-year-old has earned 23 caps for the Lions of Teranga, with whom he competed in the most recent Africa Cup of Nations and World Cup.
