FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas basketball sophomore Isaiah Sealy was arrested in the early-morning hours of Friday, Aug. 14. He was charged with counts of criminal trespassing, obstructing governmental operations, possession of a controlled substance and possession of alcohol as a minor.
A Razorbacks spokesperson released the following statement to the Southwest Times Record:
"We are aware of the issue regarding Isaiah Sealy and are gathering information from the proper officials," the spokesperson said. "After receiving and reviewing the information, we will handle the matter internally."
Sealy was booked by the Washington County Sheriff's Office at 1:52 a.m. Friday. He was released at 9:18 a.m.
According to the Sheriff's Office website, Sealy is scheduled to appear in court for a hearing on Monday, Aug. 17. He has a later court date set for Sept. 28.
Arkansas already ruled Sealy out for the upcoming season after he suffered a knee injury in a summer practice that required surgery.
Sealy played sparingly across 19 games during his freshman season. The 6-foot-7 wing averaged 2.9 points and 1.3 rebounds while shooting 50% from the field.
In his collegiate debut against Southern, Sealy scored 12 points, going 6-of-6 at the free-throw line. He made an impact in Arkansas ' win over Mississippi State with six points and three blocks, gathering extended minutes with Karter Knox and D.J. Wagner injured.
Sealy was a four-star recruit coming out of Springdale High School in the 2025 class. He averaged 17.6 points, 5.1 rebounds and 5.2 assists and led Springdale to a 6A runner-up finish with a 29-4 record. Sealy won a state championship with the Bulldogs as a sophomore in 2023.
