Outdoor volleyball is returning to White Field.
Newark and Newark Catholic will jointly host the Showdown at Sundown for the third time Aug. 15. Twenty-two teams, including 10 Licking County schools, will match up for a total of 11 scrimmages of two sets apiece.
The event begins with Utica playing Lancaster and Mount Vernon playing New Lexington at 3:30 p.m. each. The host Wildcats and Green Wave conclude the event at 8:30 p.m.
Cost is $5 per person with ages 5 and under free. The home and visiting bleachers both will be open, but fans are encouraged to bring chairs to sit beside the courts while cheering on their favorite team.

Mount Vernon vs. New Lexington, 3:30 p.m.
Lakewood vs. John Glenn, 4:30 p.m.
Pleasant vs. DeSales, 4:30 p.m.
Granville vs. Pickerington North, 5:30 p.m.
Watkins Memorial vs. Bellefontaine, 5:30 p.m.
Heath vs. Pickerington Central, 6:30 p.m.
Johnstown vs. Gallia Academy, 6:30 p.m.
Northridge vs. River View, 7:30 p.m.
Licking Valley vs. Circleville, 7:30 p.m.
Newark vs. Newark Catholic, 8:30 p.m.
