The Game Shows Love to L.A. in ‘The Life’ Music Video: Watch

The Game has dropped the first music video for his already much talked about 11th solo album, The Documentary III .

Directed by Sela Vave and Rippy Austin , “The Life” shows the Compton rapper hanging around L.A. on the block, washing his car, dappin’ folks up and generally just showing love to his hometown which is something he wanted to highlight in this video. “‘The Life’ is me at my best,” he told Billboard via email. “The everyday me. The me that I wish the world knew more of. My city, my daily life is all centered around the positivity I exude organically from the time I wake until the time I rest.”

Adding, “There’s so much more to the person I am outside of the lights & I aim to give the world glimpses of who I am at my core with every new visual from this album.”

“The Life,” produced by Maneesh of “Shabang” fame, is one of the standout records on the veteran MC’s latest offering and features The Game at his best, including a little Big Pun easter egg towards the end of the verse for those in the know.

He’s made headlines since releasing the album last Friday (Aug. 21) because fans feel like he dissed fellow Cali native Kendrick Lamar ( he said he isn’t ) and he suggested he might’ve taken verses off his song, “No Brakes,” with Drake “ to protect the Coast .”

The Documentary III is available of DSPs everywhere and features the likes of Snoop Dogg , YG , E-40 , Larry June , Drakeo the Ruler , Black Thought , Ye (formerly known as Kanye West), Drake, plus much more.
