See the full story · 4 sourcesRookie wide receiver Cyrus Allen has earned positive reviews at Chiefs camp with his play, but he was the center of attention for different reasons on Saturday.
Allen was injured in a collision with a teammate during a special teams drill and checked out for an apparent left leg injury. Reporters at the practice noted that Allen was not able to put his full weight on the leg before taking a cart to the back for further evaluation.
The Chiefs drafted Allen in the fifth round and has seen time with Patrick Mahomes and the first team offense.
"He's done a nice job ," head coach Andy Reid said on Friday, via Nate Taylor of ESPN.com. "The quarterback trusts him."
The hope in Chiefs camp is that Saturday's injury is just a momentary interruption for the rookie.
