The Los Angeles Rams are approaching roster cut-down day , and after Thursday's game, the team will officially complete all preseason activities against another opponent. In 2025, before having to make tough roster decisions, the Rams traded away offensive lineman KT Leveston to the Browns , as they had no room for him and there was a suitor available.
On that note, with their roster being set the way that it is, there are a plethora of talented players who might not make the cut. Considering their skill, current situation, and contractual future, here are the team's top four tradeable assets.
Stetson Bennett
The quarterback market is wild, and there are NFL teams without a legitimate starter, let alone a competent backup. While he is poised to be the Rams' backup, there's a chance Ty Simpson could eclipse him for the QB2 role, and with Jimmy Garoppolo always being an option in the event of an injury to Matthew Stafford, the team has a path to maintaining the standards in the room if they trade Bennett.
The Rams probably won't move Bennett, but that doesn't change the fact he's their best-valued asset that can easily be moved.
Jarquez Hunter
Hunter had a great game against the New Orleans Saints last week, but on Tuesday, Sean McVay confirmed Ronnie Rivers would be the team's RB3 and would step up in the event that Kyren Williams and Blake Corum were unable to play.
"We’ve got two great running backs in Kyren and Blake that are going to be building on what they've done, but if for whatever reason they need to be supplemented, Ronnie Rivers is the guy that I trust,” said McVay.
Williams and Corum are under contract for the next few years, meaning Hunter would end his time with Los Angeles as the RB2 at best, unless one of the players ahead of him declines. With Dean Connors putting things together, Hunter has an extremely limited future with the Rams, and other teams need workhorses in the backfield to supplement their roster.
The Rams already have theirs and could get some value instead of letting him waste another professional season.
Desjuan Johnson
Johnson has been fantastic during his time in Los Angeles, becoming a real inside-outside threat on the defensive line. The problem is that with the emerging Wesley Bailey, along with the depth pieces already established on defense, Johnson could be the odd man out with only one year left on his deal.
Teams will grab him if the Rams waive him, so unless they have plans to use him in their regular rotation, they should get something for him instead of letting another team grab him for free.
Cam Lampkin
Lampkin is another player who has been performing at a top level but could be iced out due to the veterans already in place. There's a chance the team could move Josh Wallace, who hasn't played in the preseason, to outside corner, which would even out the secondary and leave Lampkin as the CB5.
If he gets cut in an attempt to put him on the practice squad, someone will pick him up. Don't be surprised if it's an NFC West team.
