Aston Villa predicted XI v PSG: Alejandro Garnacho and João Gomes set for debuts
UEFA Europa League winners Aston Villa will take on UEFA Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain tonight in the season’s curtain-raiser. The last time these two met was in the 2024/25 Champions League when PSG came out on top in a 5-4 win on aggregate.
Unai Emery will likely hand out debuts to two of his new signings tonight. Alejandro Garnacho, who arrived on loan from Chelsea FC, is set to replace the attacking threat of Morgan Rogers, who went in the opposite direction in a permanent move.
In midfield, João Gomes should also make his debut following his transfer from Wolverhampton Wanderers. Gomes will likely sit alongside Boubacar Kamara, who made his return from a lengthy injury spell (that dashed his hopes of playing in the 2026 FIFA World Cup) in a friendly against BG Pathum United in Bangkok.
