See the full story · 1 sourcesThe Arizona Cardinals still have three players on the PUP (physically unable to perform) list in training camp with football-related injuries. Cornerback Garrett Williams is recovering from a torn Achilles, tight end Tip Reiman is coming back from a severe ankle injury and linebacker Josh Sweat has a knee injury of some sort.
According to head coach Mike LaFleur, their return is still unknown. "I don't have a timeline for you, and truly I mean that," he told reporters on Sunday.
He indicated that all three players were "feeling good."
LaFleur said earlier in the offseason that there is a chance that Williams could be ready to play in Week 1, and he still believes that is the case.
"I feel really good about that," he said. "So, he's feeling better every single day and I love the approach of that guy. You talk about clockwork. At 6:00 a.m. every morning, he's walking in that building doing what Garrett does, and that's just how he's wired."
Sweat's injury is the real mystery. He finished the season seemingly healthy. Where is he at? LaFLeur said Sweat is "continuing to build," referring to the need to build him up for practice.
What really matters is that he is ready to go when Week 1 rolls around, but this continues to be a weird offseason for Sweat.
