Bayern Munich sporting director Christoph Freund signaled optimism on the club’s long-running effort to finalize a deal for Senegalese international Bara Sapoko Ndiaye.
“The final details still need to be clarified, but I expect him to start the season with us. Bara will undergo performance tests on Monday and then join the training camp at Tegernsee,” Freund said (per Bild, via @iMiaSanMia ).
Ndiaye was a quick study in his loan stint at Bayern during the second half of last season and a surprise inclusion in Senegal’s World Cup squad. At only 18, the central midfield prospect clearly oozes potential, but also still has a ways to go. In a Bayern midfield that will be patrolled by veteran Joshua Kimmich and top rising talents Aleksandar Pavlović and Tom Bischof, Ndiaye will be under no immediate pressure — short of injuries — to carry the load. At the same time, he can expect a good shot at continuing the trend of getting first team minutes at a top club in 2026/27.
Bayern still has about a month to go before the competitive fixtures kick off, starting with the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup against Borussia Dortmund on August 22nd before the Bundesliga opener a week later against VfB Stuttgart.
