See the full story · 1 sourcesRobert Woods went through five training camps as a member of the Los Angeles Rams from 2017-2021, but this year’s camp has a different feel. That’s because he’s no longer a player and has successfully moved to the coaching side of football.
The Rams hired him this offseason as their assistant wide receivers coach , working alongside the great Eric Yarber, who coached Woods in Los Angeles. It’s Woods’ first crack at coaching so it’s only fitting that the Rams mic him up for his first camp practice in that role.
The Rams shared the video from his practice debut and Woods was heard coaching up not only wide receivers such as Puka Nacua and Davante Adams, but also the team’s punt returners. He was giving tips to Xavier Smith, Kyren Williams and Tyler Smith in the return game, being a former return specialist himself.
Woods was always beloved by his coaches and fans in Los Angeles, and he'll make a terrific coach on Sean McVay's staff.
