Now that LeBron James has left the Los Angeles Lakers , they are in a new era centered on Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves. They still have goals of being a top team, and team owner Mark Walter is committed to helping them succeed.
He is familiar with success across all of his sports, but the Lakers have a long-lasting legacy they have to uphold. It will definitely be challenging because of the quality around the league, but it seems the Lakers are ready to compete with their current squad.
Mark Walter is committing to the Lakers' championship goals
As an investor across multiple sports teams, Walter is well aware of how they succeed. He is not just the owner of the Lakers, but he also has the same role with teams like the Los Angeles Dodgers , the Los Angeles Sparks , and he is even an investor in Premier League club Chelsea .
Since he is now in control of the Lakers, he has some massive expectations to live up to. The Dodgers have been quite dominant in the MLB, so the Lakers would want to keep up with that because they are historically one of the best teams in the NBA.

"We’re going to do everything in our power to make the Los Angeles Lakers a championship team again. We understand the process and what it takes to get there. That’s the standard and the expectation. I can promise you one thing: championships will be back in Los Angeles," Walter said about his goals with the Lakers moving forward .
With that kind of commitment, it is probably fun for Lakers fans to see because it is a fresh sight. They have been working under the Buss family for so long, so Walter could be the change they need to further improve the team.
