Former LSU football quarterback in line to start for Kennesaw State

A former LSU football quarterback is projected to start for a Conference USA squad this fall. Rickie Collins, a Baton Rouge native, will likely take the reins for Kennesaw State. Collins signed with LSU as a four-star recruit in 2023 and spent two seasons with the Tigers .

Collins only attempted seven passes in Baton Rouge -- throwing for three yards as a freshman in 2023 and tossing 35 yards in 2024. Collins spent his time at LSU behind Jayden Daniels and Garrett Nussmeier, and there wasn't a path to playing time.
