Dulles Joins 17 Other US Airports Getting Billion Dollar Redesigns

President Donald Trump announced Wednesday a $22.5 billion overhaul of Washington Dulles International Airport, a plan that includes replacement of the airport’s C and D concourses, the addition or renovation of more than 5 million square feet of space, and construction of a 32,000-space parking garage—with construction expected to begin in spring 2027.
A White House spokesperson told Newsweek that the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority and the airlines will fund the project, rather than the federal government.
The Dulles plan places the Virginia airport among a growing group of major U.S. airports undergoing billion-dollar redesigns, expansions or modernization programs.
