Several members of the Pittsburgh Steelers stood out in Thursday night's preseason game but some did it for all the wrong reasons. Pittsburgh beat the Green Bay Packers 28-9 and there were plenty of great things from the game. But these four players did themselves no favors and find themselves on the roster bubble with two preseason games left.
Running back Kaleb Johnson
The former third-round pick saw almost no action on Thursday night and has been relegated to the team's fifth running back this offseason. Johnson's transition to the NFL has been a nightmare and being out played consistently by other players really hurts his case.
Quarterback Will Howard
Will Howard didn't play poorly on Thursday night. However, so did Mason Rudolph and rookie Drew Allar, which makes the likelihood the Steelers keep four quarterbacks less of a reality. As of now, Howard is our odd man out.
Linebacker Carson Bruener
We were underwhelmed by Bruener on Thursday and his lack of value on defense hurts him. The fact the special teams stunk with Bruener as one of its leaders is another reason he could be on the bubble. Oh and the Steelers signed veteran Elandon Roberts as well.
Offensive tackle Dylan Cook
Dylan Cook was awful on Thursday despite being OT1 for all of the offseason. The Steelers have a pair of former first-round picks in Broderick Jones and Max Iheanachor waiting in the wings and if Cook can't get back on track, he could be out in the team's final cuts.
