Konstantinos Koulierakis is Roma’s chosen addition to strengthen their defense.
The former Wolfsburg center-back has arrived at the Giallorossi for a total fee of around €18 million.
The Greek defender joins a squad that includes Mancini, Ndicka, Hermoso, Ghilardi, and Ziolkowski.
Interviewed exclusively by TeleRadioStereo , the new Giallorossi signing introduced himself as follows: “I’m very happy, I thank everyone who welcomed me here. I’m perfectly at ease with the staff and my new teammates.”
“I didn’t think twice when I heard of Roma’s interest; they’re a great club and have extraordinary fans. I spoke to Manolas before coming here; he told me it would be an important step in my career, and now I’m here.”
Koulierakis then continued, speaking about Gasperini: “He was one of the factors that pushed me to come to Roma. They have a system that suits my characteristics. I spoke to Tsimikas and he told me that Gasperini is very demanding: in recent years he has achieved important results with Atalanta, but he is a successful coach and the conditions are excellent.”
“I have played for three different teams: PAOK, Wolfsburg, and now Roma. I grew up at PAOK, I’ve been playing there since I was 18. In Greece, people can’t wait to go to the stadium at the weekend, I learned intensity from Germany, and from Serie A I expect a lot of passion and tactical acumen.”
