Arroyo caught two touchdowns during Saturday's one-on-ones session, according to The News Tribune's Gregg Bell . One of those scores featured a quick-footed move to the left to defeat safety Rodney Thomas. Arroyo also caught a touchdown pass in the back of the end zone from Sam Darnold that left starting safety Ty Okada flat footed.
The Seahawks spent the 50th overall selection on Arroyo during the 2025 NFL draft. The athletic tight end had little impact as a rookie, getting lost behind the Seahawks' plethora of offensive weapons. Arroyo recorded just 15 receptions in 13 regular-season appearances.
New Seahawks offensive coordinator Brian Fleury spent the previous four seasons as the San Francisco 49ers' tight ends coach. Coach Fleury could be expanding the Seahawks' usage of tight ends this season. AJ Barner is still the starter, but the snaps could be divided in an interesting manner .
Arroyo is still competing for reps behind the likes of Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Cooper Kupp, Rashid Shaheed, and Barner. The Seahawks have several mouths to feed on offense. Coach Fleury is ensuring Arroyo doesn't get forgotten about.
