“Nwankpa's 30.75" arms likely contributed to his going undrafted, but he has the toughness and versatility to make a real run at making the final 53 in Kansas City,” Bleacher Report’s Gary Davenport said of the Chiefs’ young safety.
Nwankpa recorded an interception and two forced fumbles with the Iowa Hawkeyes last season. He served as Iowa 's starting strong safety and free safety during his last two seasons in Iowa City and signed with Kansas City on May 1, shortly after the 2026 NFL Draft.
The Chiefs stand to gain from establishing their defensive backfield with versatile young prospects like Nwankpa, who will have a chance to put his talent on display in front of Kansas City's coaches during training camp and the preseason.
