According to a report from Sport Bild journalist Christian Falk (as captured by @iMiaSanMia ), if Bayern Munich really wants to make a big splurge at any point, it actually does have the resources to do it.
While not exactly pulling a lever, the Bavarians have a secret account flush with cash that the executives can use to “break glass in case of emergency”:
Uli Hoeneß had increasingly pushed for cost-cutting measures, pointing out that not much was left of FC Bayern’s fixed deposit account. Nevertheless, there’s something that allows the club’s bosses to sleep soundly. According to @SPORTBILD, there’s a second “fixed deposit account” that the club could access if necessary. The Allianz Arena GmbH (company with limited liability) has a nine-figure sum of liquid assets.
That must be nice, eh? While it is rare that Bayern Munich decides to really splurge, knowing that it has the resources to do what it wants, when it wants, is pretty reassuring.
