Notre Dame athletics announced a partnership with SoFi on Tuesday that will give the national bank brand to be the exclusive jersey patch sponsor of the IRish. On3's Peter Nakos said the deal could be for $18 to 20 million dollars annually. The highest reported deal of it's kind thus far , one that surpasses even some NBA jersey sponsorships.
On Monday, Illinois had announced a similar deal with Busey Bank and then on Tuesday morning, Ohio State had announced a jersey patch sponsorship with JPMorgan Bank, which at the time was the biggest reported deal of its kind. Seeing the Ohio State announcement left Notre Dame fans wondering what was the plan for their own school was.

The staggering dollar figure shows the power of the Notre Dame brand in the collegiate landscape. Despite not having the backing of a conference to fall back on, the Irish are continually able to build their brand name as an independent.
The Fighting Irish come into the season with high expectations. A potential preseason top-5 ranking, along with a Heisman candidate at quarterback, has Irish fans dreaming of lifting a trophy at the end of the season. Whether they win it or not, the Notre Dame brand is as strong as ever.
