The incident was reported around 3:30 a.m. at Angeles Crest Highway, according to the California Highway Patrol's traffic log.
It's unclear what caused the fire, but video from the scene showed crews working to extinguish the flames.
The CHP said the right four lanes would be closed until further notice.
