Trevor Story will kick things off on Sunday with Triple-A Worcester. Roman Anthony will then follow on Tuesday with Double-A Portland. Isiah Kiner-Falefa rounds out the week of returns on Wednesday with Triple-A Worcester.
"It's a good sign," Tracy said, per video provided by NESN. "We have to get them through the rehab assignments -- it's a combination of getting them right and feeling good physically, and also getting them at-bats. There's some work to be done, but having the three of those guys out there is exciting, for sure."
Story, 33, underwent surgery on his sports hernia on May 21 -- missing each of the next three months while being replaced by the likes of Andruw Monasterio, Tsung-Che Cheng, and Marcelo Mayer during a run in which the club went 47–32.
Anthony, 22, has not appeared in a game since suffering a partially torn tendon in the joint that connects to his right ring finger against the Detroit Tigers on May 4. The Red Sox went back and forth with the player regarding the timeline/specifics of the injury, with ownership eventually retracting one of their statements before sending the second-year outfielder to recover at their spring training facility in Fort Myers, Fla.
Kiner-Falefa, 31, has been sidelined with a left forearm stress reaction since June 19. Nick Sogard and Anthony Seigler have since replaced him at second base.
The Red Sox did not want three major-league players infiltrating one minor league affiliate at once, which is why the youngest of the bunch will go to Double-A and the two veterans will meet in Triple-A. If one of the three is deemed ready, the organization could reshuffle the deck and shift the assignments.
