We're celebrating standouts across multiple seasons with the 2026 Daily News Fans Girls Athlete of the Year Poll.
Here are the candidates:
Clara Blongastainer, Franklin
The sophomore was named a USA Lacrosse All-American and the Hockomock MVP. She helped lead the Panthers to the Division 1 field hockey state final and was named to the MSFHCA Rising Sophomore team.
Kayla Bohlin, Wellesley
Bound for Williams, she was named the Bay State Conference Care MVP for the third straight field hockey season . The Raiders advanced to the Division 1 state semifinals. Bohlin also won the indoor Division 2 600-meter run state championship and ran on Wellesley's title-winning 4x400 relay. Outdoors, she also found the podium in the Division 2 800 and two-mile.
Anna Burke, Hopkinton
The Tri-Valley field hockey all-star led the HIllers to the Division 1 state quarterfinals. She qualified for the state championships in the pool then was a girls lacrosse captain and TVL all-star once again.
Phoebe Carroll, Hopedale
The Bridgewater State commit led the Blue Raiders to their first Division 5 volleyball state championship and captained the program's second Division 5 basketball state title. She also played in the Division 5 softball state final . "It's hard to imagine this program without her," Hopedale basketball coach Jay Rojee said.

Lucy Downin, Holliston
Just a freshman, she's already setting the pace. Downin set a meet record in the Division 4 indoor mile, winning the state title. She won the cross country Tri-Valley League showcase and a divisional title. Downin closed the year outdoors with Divsion 4 state titles in the mile and 800.
Emmanuella Edozien, Natick
The Arkansas commit was an All-American, New England champion and holds the state record in both the 55-meter hurdles and 110-meter hurdles. She won the Div. 1, all-state and New England titles in the 55 indoors and captured the 100 hurdles title at the D1 state meet and all-states outdoor.
Chloe Elder, Natick
She was nomited for the MSTCA Athlete of the Year. Elder, a North Carolina commit, set an indoor Div. 1 meet record in the 600 and won a championship in the 300. Elder was the indoor 300 New England champoin then dominated the 400 outdoors with titles at New Englands, All-States and the Division 1 meet.
Emma Genovese, Millis
The freshman repeated as the Tri-Valley League Small Cross Country MVP, winning the Divisional race and finishing second at both the TVL Showcase and Meet of Champions. She won the Division 5 mile state championship indoors and found the podium at the Div. 6 meet outdoors.
Madelyn Glynn, Algonquin/AMSA
The senior excelled on every surface. She led AMSA to its first softball state championship with 34 hits and 23 RBIs. That followed a 29-goal, 20-assist season for the Algonquin girls hockey co-op that included a 100th career point and a Div. 1 quarterfinal appearance. Glynn was a Div. 4 honorable mention Central Mass. all-star on the volleyball court and helped lead the Eagles to the Round of 16.
Regan Kittredge, Westborough
She showed astounding versatility. The junior started the year on the cross tountry team with a third-place finish at the Mid-Wach A championships and ran at both the Divisional and All-State meets. Kittredge won the Mid-Wach B girls basketball MVP after averaging 14.3 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 7 steals per game and leading the Rangers to the Div. 1 state tournament.
Ema Claire Luczow, Dover-Sherborn
She finished atop the Mass Bay Ski League East standings and was fifth in the giant slalom at the state championships. Luczkow was a Tri-Valley League all-star on the lacrosse field, leading the Raiders to the Div. 3 quarterfinals and ran for D-S' cross country team.
Al Regnier, Westborough
They closed the season with an all-state title in the outdoor pentathlon. Regnier also won the Div. 2 indoor long jump. The junior was a Div. 1 volleyball all-state selection and helped the Rangers reach the Round of 16.
Morgan Trainor, Framingham
She was the silver medalist at the Div. 1 fall diving state championships then qualifiedfor the individual gymnastics state championships.
Sazie Wrentmore, Wayland
She captured three Div. 4 track and field state championships across two seasons: the indoor long jump and 600 and outdoor 400. Wrentmore also placed second in the Meet of Champions 400 hurdles. The junior earned girls soccer Dual County League All-Star recognition and led the Warriors to the Division 3 Round of 16.
