Following being acquired by the Canadiens last season, Danault posted six goals, 12 points, and a 56.2 faceoff winning percentage in 45 games. This was after he had zero goals and five assists in 30 games with the Kings before being traded to the Habs.
Overall, from an offensive standpoint, Danault had a quiet regular season in 2025-26. However, he notably picked up his offense a bit during the playoffs, as he recorded two goals and 10 points in 19 games. Now, Danault will be looking to build off that in 2026-27 from here.
When noting that Danault is entering the final year of his contract, it is clear that the 2026-27 season is a very important one for him. He will be looking to put together a strong year as he aims to land another nice payday for his next deal, whether that is from the Canadiens or another team.
Danault recorded at least 43 points from 2021-22 to 2024-25, so he certainly has the potential to heat back up offensively next season. It will be interesting to see if he can do just that.
