A manhunt was underway early on Sunday after at least one person was killed and five others were injured in a shooting at an event in Switzerland, police said.
Police said that "some" of the injured at the event in the Schachen district of Aarau, a northern Swiss town, were thought to have serious wounds.
"Possible motives as well as the exact circumstances of the crime are still unclear," the Aargau Cantonal Police said on social media
Police said that a horse racing track, a swimming pool and a sports field had been cordoned off following the shooting.
"Major police operation underway," police said. "Stay away from the area."
