The Boston Red Sox , ever since moving on from Alex Cora, have an argument to be the best team in Major League Baseball.
At the time, many questioned whether Boston was making the right decision, with others even suggesting that it wasn't his fault that they were playing at this level. Instead, the Red Sox made the right decision by moving on from Cora, and that's been evident over the past few months.
New skipper Chad Tracy has a real opportunity to continue winning games at a very high level, and for his own sake, he's going to need to continue to do so if he wants to keep this job. According to the latest reports, while he has the edge at the moment, the Red Sox front office has discussed other candidates.
"Since firing Alex Cora, the Red Sox front office has certainly discussed other names,” Chris Cotillo wrote . "At this time, though, it seems Chad Tracy has the edge, albeit no guarantee."
It remains unclear what other candidates the Red Sox have discussed, as many will be available during the offseason.
Guys like Rob Thomson, who managed the Philadelphia Phillies before being let go, Don Mattingly if Alex Cora gets the job in Philadelphia now, and others would all be viewed as potential candidates if Boston decides to go in a different direction from Tracy.
