See the full story · 1 sourcesYou’d have to be living under a rock to be a college football fan who doesn’t know about Penn State’s White Out game. It’s widely considered one of the most impressive, and intimidating, atmospheres in all of sports and has become somewhat of a national spectacle.
Fans have been looking forward to the annual White Out for nearly 20 years, with the event expanding to the entire stadium in 2007. One of the Nittany Lions ’ lesser-known traditions, though, is the Stripe Out game, an annual event where each section alternates wearing the team’s primary colors, Blue and White. Well, the team finally announced a date for this year’s Stripe Out, holding the event during the opening game of the season on Sept. 5 against the Marshall Thundering Herd .

It seems like a good way to start the year off with fans engaged in what should be one of the Nittany Lions ’ easier games of the year.
The team took the field for the start of training camp yesterday, which marked exactly one month until the start of the regular season. Soon they’ll be running out to a deafening crowd, surrounded by a sea of Blue and White.
