Ojai pastor faces child molestation charges; investigators looking for more possible victims Thursday, August 27, 2026 5:17AM Stream Southern California's News Leader and Original Shows 24/7 OJAI, Calif. (KABC) -- A Ventura County man faces six felony counts of child molestation against multiple victims, and sheriff's investigators say they are now searching for more possible victims.
According to the Ventura County Sheriff's Office, 58-year-old David Johnson of Ojai worked as both a pastor and a massage therapist. He's accused of molesting two children under the age of 14.
The alleged abuse happened over several years at locations in Ojai and Oxnard, deputies say. Johnson reportedly had access to the children through a familial relationship.
Johnson faces four counts of lewd acts upon a child and two counts of continuous sexual abuse, along with the special allegations of substantial sexual conduct and the victims being under 14 years old.
He pleaded not guilty to all charges in Ventura County Superior Court. He remains in custody without bail and is due back in court for a bail review hearing scheduled for Aug. 28.
