Every die-hard Miami Dolphins fan has their own unique game-day rituals and traditions. While some treat game day like any other until kickoff, others follow a strict routine that dictates what they wear, eat, and drink. For those attending in person, the experience varies widely: some arrive just in time for kickoff, while others show up hours early to immerse themselves in the tailgate culture. Whether it involves setting up tents, displaying team flags, or preparing an elaborate spread of food and drinks, tailgating is a core part of the Phins Fans experience that brings the community together before and after the game.
I spend my game day mornings watching pregame shows and writing the live threads for the site. If weather permits, I fly my Miami Dolphins flag outside—a tradition I also uphold for my Miami Hurricanes, much to the presumed amusement or maybe disgust of my die-hard Gators-fan neighbors as I now live in Gainesville. My menu changes with whatever I am feeling that day, ranging from subs, wings, and pizza to fried chicken or burgers. As for my game day attire, I usually rotate through my collection of Phins jerseys and T-shirts, paired with one of the many Dolphins ball caps I own.
