Aaron Rodgers says he’s not approaching his final NFL season any differently.
When speaking with CBS Sports at Steelers training camp on Tuesday, Aug. 4, the 42-year-old quarterback was asked by host Bryant McFadden if this “moment is any different” for him, and noted how Rodgers’ teammate, Cam Hayward, said the veteran signal-caller offered similar sentiments about retirement last year.
“This is definitely — there’s no 99.9, this is 100% the end,” Rodgers said.
The quarterback, who recently reunited with his estranged parents and brother after a years-long rift , continued, “I am savoring it, but it doesn’t have a charged feeling to me.”

Rodgers said he’s “not overly nostalgic or dramatic about” the final season of his career. “There’s none of that going on. I’m just enjoying my time with the guys,” he added.
Rodgers re-signed with the Steelers on a one-year deal in May. The contract pays Rodgers somewhere between $22 million and $23 million in base salary, with incentives up to $25 million, according to ESPN .
At a press conference discussing his return to the team on May 20, Rodgers said his mysterious wife, Brittani — who has not yet been identified — helped him decide to play a final season.
“I had a lot of conversations with Mike [McCarthy], Omar [Khan], for a while,” he told media at the press conference. “And you know, had a lot of conversations with my wife about it, after the [NFL] draft came to the conclusion that I wanted to play, I wanted to come back.”

Rodgers gushed about Brittani in a recent interview with The Athletic, stating she’s “completely changed” his life for the better. “When I say that my wife has completely changed my life, for the better, there’s no comparison to any time I’ve ever said those words before,” Rodgers said, calling Brittani “the big impetus behind” his family’s reconciliation.
“Not that she was pushing it, but just the way that she loves me and supports me, it’s allowed me to open up to that possibility,” said Rodgers, who publicly reunited with parents Darla and Ed Rodgers in April as he was inducted into his high school’s athletics hall of fame.
“It’s been a couple-year process of communication and spending time together, but that is a real blessing in my life to have those relationships back and to close that circle that was cut for so many years. With her by my side, we reopened that door, and it’s been really beautiful,” he added.
