Peak talks injury as preseason camp begins with him on the sideline

COLUMBIA — The 50-dollar gold piece in the middle of the bountiful chest of South Carolina’s transfer recruiting class sat at the table, no crutches or knee braces in sight. That was the good news.

The bad was there’s still no definite timetable for Jacarrius Peak to play this season. The prized transfer from N.C. State, projected to start at left tackle, was at the table during the Gamecocks’ Media Day but could only offer a headshake “no” when asked if he would be on the field on Friday.
