See the full story · 1 sourcesDay four in the Cleveland Browns ' training camp is officially in the books, and as a surprise to very few, the Browns' defense was back on top .
Again, it takes time for the offense to fully gel and get all 11 guys on the same page at all times, but we are inching closer to that time. There are plenty of built-in excuses from experience to all of the new pieces on the roster to a quarterback competition, but they are making the Browns' defense look like the '85 Bears.
Maybe the defense is that good, but I would like to believe that they aren't quite at that point yet. Day four was another disappointing day for the Browns' offense as the quarterbacks and offensive line continue to struggle .

— Coop (The Real Justin Cooper) (@JJCoop25) August 1, 2026 It was all defense today in Berea as the Browns offense is still just trying to find its way.
One of the major storylines coming out of the first few days of camp is what is going on with Deshaun Watson. He seemingly put in at least some work this offseason as he was preparing to rebound from a double Achilles tendon tear last year.
It would make very logical sense if he lost a step of athleticism; that checks out. But what is very clear to start this year is that whatever arm talent he used to have is gone. He has very little arm strength, his accuracy has been bad, and his decision-making also has been a major negative.
It hasn't been much better for Sanders, and that is the really tough part for the start of camp . That is all the bad news; the good news is that Saturday was just practice number four.
We aren't even one full week into this thing, so they have time to continue making improvements. One of them is going to have to separate; it's just not clear who that one will be.
