See the full story · 1 sourcesThe Tennessee Titans hosted former Falcons kicker Younghoe Koo for a tryout on Saturday, ESPN's Marc Raimondi reported. Koo, a former Pro Bowler who spent seven years in Atlanta (2019-2025), has bounced around a bit since being released by the Falcons early in the 2025 season.
The decision to release Koo was somewhat controversial at the time since he technically only missed one field goal in the season-opening loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers . However, Koo nearly missed a second field goal in that game, and the kick he did miss proved costly in a three-point Week 1 loss.
Koo made 178 of 205 field-goal attempts and 166 of 173 extra-point over his 89 starts in Atlanta. Despite making a Pro Bowl during his time with the Falcons, things began to go south for Koo in 2024 after sustaining a leg injury and later ending the season on IR.
While he was a frequent target of fan scrutiny during his final two seasons in Atlanta, Koo was one of the NFL's most clutch kickers for about a three-year stretch. Former Falcons head coach Arthur Smith owes at least a quarter of his 21 career wins to Koo's clutch leg.

— Marc Raimondi (@marcraimondi) August 8, 2026 The Falcons went 8-9 last season, finishing at the bottom of a three-way tie with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Carolina Panthers, however, their kicking problems didn't go away after cutting Koo. Parker Romo got off to a hot start but quickly lost his rhythm and eventually his job.
Koo signed with the New York Giants later in the 2025 season and appeared in five games. He recently tried out for the New Orleans Saints and had a brief stint with the New York Jets but was waived shortly after.
Hopefully, Koo catches on somewhere this season. The life of an NFL kicker sure ain't easy.
