Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert and his girlfriend, singer Madison Beer, have officially announced their engagement, just as training camp is getting underway.
"meet my fiance," Beer wrote in an I nstagram carousel post , also shared by Herbert on his page.
A carousel of photos includes the couple embracing, Herbert carrying his fiancee over his shoulder, and a wooden sign reading, "Mr. and Mrs. Herbert." In addition, several photos show off Beer's engagement ring.
As of this writing, the dually shared Instagram post was approaching a million likes and had 18,500 comments from friends and fans reacting to the exciting news.

Herbert, 28, and Beer, 27, have dated for nearly a year. According to People , they first sparked speculation about their relationship in August 2025, when they were photographed together on a Los Angeles video shoot. In October 2025, a sideline kiss before a Chargers game became public confirmation that they were a couple.
The Chargers QB and singer continued to make appearances at events, including an NBA game this past March, where they watched the nearby Los Angeles Lakers take on the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Herbert's announcement comes as the star quarterback heads into his sixth season with Los Angeles. Last season saw the 11-6 Chargers reach the playoffs, where they lost to Drake Maye and the New England Patriots in the AFC Wild Card Round.
While some might believe this could be a distraction or hinder Herbert's coming season, it's also possible he'll follow an intriguing trend an X user mentioned about quarterbacks' seasons after they get engaged or married.
The most recent example was the Philadelphia Eagles' Jalen Hurts, who got engaged in September 2024 and had a 98.5 passer rating the following season. Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen got engaged in November 2024 and then achieved a 102.2 passer rating the following season.
Whether or not Herbert goes off like that in 2026 remains to be seen. In May, ESPN revealed the hardest and weakest schedules for the upcoming season. The Chargers ranked 24th, which was just six spots above the Chicago Bears, who have the hardest schedule this season.
The Chargers have their first preseason game on Thursday, Aug. 13, against the Texans, and their first regular-season game on Sunday, Sept. 13, a home game against the Arizona Cardinals.
