Sepp Blatter left FIFA in 2015 amid a corruption scandal, being replaced by Giovanni Infantino.
Infantino remains in charge of FIFA to this day, but recent plans put forward by the president have made him very unpopular.
After this year’s World Cup finished, it emerged that he wants to sell off part of the commercial rights to private investors.
However, many countries from around the globe have since opposed these plans, while news broke on Friday that Infantino’s advisor has stepped down due to the plan.
Amid all the backlash towards Infantino and his private investor plot, many fans are now calling for Blatter to be brought back.

Soccer fans are calling for Sepp Blatter to return to FIFA
For some context, as per the BBC , it emerged in 2021 that: “Former Fifa officials Sepp Blatter and Michel Platini have been charged with fraud and other offences in Switzerland.
“Swiss prosecutors say Mr Blatter unlawfully arranged a transfer of two million Swiss francs ($2.19m; £1.6m) to Mr Platini in 2011.”
But it appears a number of soccer fans would still prefer to have Blatter running things ahead of Infantino right now.
One supporter took to X/Twitter to write: “This is a vote of no confidence. He’s gone. Bring back Blatter.”
A second echoed: “It’s not FIFA, its Infantino. Bring back Blatter.”
“Ok I’ll say it: bring back Sepp Blatter,” tweeted a third.
Another wrote: “RIP The World Cup, thank you, Gianni. Unironically, bring back Blatter.”
A fifth soccer fan added: “Bring back Blatter!”, with several more typing out the exact same comment demanding the old president come back.
