Ajax have confirmed Tolu Arokodare’s loan arrival from Wolverhampton Wanderers. The towering Nigerian striker’s deal includes an option to buy.
Ajax Technical Director Jordi Cruyff spoke positively about Arokodare’s arrival. “With Tolu, we are bringing in a striker with a profile we did not yet have in our squad. He is strong and has shown he can score goals. We are confident that he will help us this season.”
Arokodare has previously turned out for Valmiera in Latvia, FC Koln in the Bundesliga, and Amiens in France’s Ligue 2. However, it was at Genk where he truly flourished, netting 31 league goals in 79 appearances for the Belgian side. This helped him secure a £24m transfer from Genk on a four-year contract in September 2025.
This move follows recent controversy at Molineux, as Arokodare reportedly refused to train. He denied these claims on social media, saying: “Throughout my career, I have always taken great pride in conducting myself professionally and maintaining the highest training standards.”
Now, with Arokodare and Leonardo at the club, questions still remain over Kasper Dolberg’s status in Amsterdam. Rumours of a move away continue to rumble on.
