Canada's captain at the prestigious Hlinka Gretzky Cup in Edmonton had four assists in an 8-1 victory over the United States in the gold-medal game.

It was Canada's first victory in a major international men's tournament in 2025-26, including the 2-1 overtime loss against Team USA at the 2026 Olympics in Italy.
"Pressure is a privilege and I think I thrive under pressure," DuPont told TSN after the game. "I just like to zone that stuff out and play the game that I love with my teammates. Obviously, had lots of fun here with the guys and great we came out on top."
DuPont joins a Michigan team which features five first-round picks: J.P. Hurlbert ( Detroit Red Wings ), Cameron Reid (Nashville Predators), Jack Nesbitt ( Philadelphia Flyers ), Michael Hage ( Montreal Canadiens ) and Will Horcoff ( Pittsburgh Penguins ).
“I’m super excited to go there," DuPont told nhl.com. "They obviously have a pretty historic program. They had a good team last year and we’ll have another good team this year."
